Rockwell enhances Fiix platform with GenAI capabilities

Rockwell Automation has added Fiix Prescriptive Maintenance to its Fiix Asset Risk Predictor software, featuring generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) capabilities that transform failure predictions into actionable work orders

The result is a complete predictive and prescriptive maintenance solution to help manufacturers eliminate unplanned downtime.

Work orders are generated using asset data, completed work orders and trusted maintenance sources. Teams can then review and edit work orders, and instantly push them to any computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) or enterprise asset management (EAM) tool. All data is kept completely private and protected by the highest security standards.

“With Fiix Prescriptive Maintenance, you can turn asset data into the predictions and work orders you need to drastically reduce unplanned downtime, boost operational equipment effectiveness (OEE), and make better use of resources,” said Sandy D’Souza, senior director of sales, Americas, Fiix by Rockwell Automation.

“It also helps close the maintenance knowledge gap, ensuring everyone has access to detailed asset and work order information, whether they’ve just started their career or have decades of experience at a company.”

Fiix Asset Risk Predictor, now including Fiix Prescriptive Maintenance, can be purchased and used independently from the Fiix CMMS or seamlessly integrated with it. It can also be integrated with any CMMS or EAM.

Advancing technology, new business models, and dramatic shifts in customer behaviour have reshaped the logistics industry in the first two decades of this millennium and there is a lot more to come AdobeStock 414319532Most logistics companies are investing in modern digital solutions to enhance their operations. (Image source: Adobe Stock) With cargo and freight volumes creeping up once more after the Covid-19 lockdowns, logistics operators are looking to strengthen systems and processes that can add value and improve efficiencies in the supply chain. Digital solutions such as 5G, Big Data, IoT, blockchain and automation can build transparency, reduce cost, enhance customer experience, among other potential benefits. The effort is well worth it in what is becoming an increasingly interconnected world. “The connection between a country’s digital capabilities and growth prospects is undeniable,” said Agility’s chief executive, Tarek Sultan, on the launch of the 2022 Agility Emerging Markets Logistics Index recently. The Index notes that those African economies that have worked to improve their infrastructure, business conditions and overall competitiveness are generally performing far better against other emerging markets. The same can be said perhaps for companies, large and small, who keep abreast of technology. It has already transformed how the big operators work across the continent.
