MDS Launches Cutting-Edge Solutions for Heavy-Duty Scrap

MDS, a leading manufacturer of specialized screening equipment, has unveiled the SCRAPMASTER 400—a powerful new machine specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of the scrap and metals recycling industry.

Building on the robust success of the M412, which was developed to screen a wide range of materials from lightweight debris to heavy demolition waste, the SCRAPMASTER 400 represents a refined solution born from extensive research and customer feedback. Tailored for heavy-duty scrap processing, this machine is equipped with a durable, wear-resistant push feeder capable of handling abrasive materials, a reinforced drum frame, and customizable screen options ranging from 25 to 150mm (1–6 inches). Additionally, an apron-style conveyor on the oversize output enhances the durability and performance specifically for scrap applications.

The SCRAPMASTER 400 also features a three-ply, heavy-duty fines belt for added resilience, auto-reverse capabilities, and adjustable drum rotation speeds to accommodate a variety of processing needs.

Conor Hegarty, General Manager at MDS, commented, “Until now, many customers have relied on traditional recycling trommels or scalpers, which often lack the durability required for metal processing. MDS recognized the need for a machine specifically designed to tackle the toughest tasks in scrap processing. Our products are built to excel in the most demanding applications, and we’ve applied our heavy-duty expertise to create a solution that significantly boosts efficiency and reliability. The SCRAPMASTER 400 reinforces MDS’s commitment to innovation and leadership in specialty screening applications.”
