Careem has partnered with Jameel Motors, the exclusive distributor of Geely Commercial Vehicles’ Farizon electric vehicles (EVs), to introduce electric commercial vans and trucks into its growing delivery network across the UAE.
Through this collaboration, Farizon’s advanced EVs will be evaluated for integration into Careem’s middle-mile delivery operations, which currently support more than 20,000 merchants, including restaurants, retailers, and small businesses. The initiative aims to cut carbon emissions, boost operational efficiency, and advance sustainable logistics across the country.
“Integrating Farizon’s EVs into our delivery fleet enables us to provide merchants with cleaner, more efficient logistics solutions that support both business growth and environmental sustainability,” said Bassel Alnahlaoui, Chief Business Officer at Careem. “Sustainability is at the core of Careem’s mission — from rides and deliveries to commercial fleets — as we work to help cities move more responsibly.”
The partnership demonstrates Careem’s commitment to electrifying its delivery operations and aligns with the UAE government’s push toward clean mobility. According to Jameel Motors, the introduction of Farizon vehicles supports both economic and environmental sustainability.
Farizon’s range, including its SuperVan and MilePro EV platforms, is designed for logistics and fleet applications, offering long driving range, high payload capacity, and low total ownership costs — all vital for delivery operations in urban environments.
“Our partnership with Careem is an important step toward sustainable mobility in the UAE,” said Yousef Hussein, Chief Commercial Officer Mobility at Jameel Motors. “By combining Farizon’s EV technology with Careem’s extensive merchant network, we are helping thousands of SMEs lower emissions and operating costs while supporting the UAE’s long-term sustainability goals.”
The UAE’s commercial vehicle market is projected to grow from USD 2.61 billion in 2025 to USD 3.95 billion by 2030, driven by a 35% annual rise in electric and hybrid vehicle adoption. This partnership aligns with the UAE’s National Electric Fleet Vehicles Policy, which targets 10% EV and hybrid vehicle adoption by 2030 and 50% by 2050.
The nation’s charging infrastructure is also expanding rapidly, expected to grow from 370 to 1,000 stations by 2025, further enabling large-scale EV integration.
By deploying EVs in its delivery network, Careem is not only contributing to the UAE’s clean transport ambitions but also helping its merchant partners achieve their sustainability goals while enhancing cost efficiency — reinforcing its role as a leader in smart, sustainable mobility.
