Niftylift is at the forefront of the mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) sector, known for producing highly fuel-efficient diesel-powered machines alongside hybrid and fully electric models.
Recently, the company made a significant breakthrough by introducing the world’s first hydrogen-electric-powered access platforms – the HR15 H2E and HR17 H2E – revolutionizing zero-emission construction in the Middle East.
“When powered by renewable energy, Niftylift’s fully electric platforms offer a reliable zero-emission solution for various urban worksites. However, we recognize that some projects, particularly those in remote areas, may lack access to grid power for charging. That’s where the hydrogen fuel cell comes in. By integrating this technology with our electric systems, we offer a versatile, practical solution suitable for nearly any jobsite,” says Thomas Hadden, Niftylift’s global technical sales manager.
The HR15 H2E and HR17 H2E can operate for up to five days on battery power alone, with the hydrogen system extending this range. Even with regular usage, the hydrogen cylinder only needs replacing every two to three weeks. These boom lifts incorporate hydrogen technology while maintaining Niftylift’s lightweight, compact design. Their only emissions are water vapor and heat, making them ideal for both urban and remote worksites while supporting the region’s sustainability objectives.
Johnson Arabia, the first rental company in the region to acquire a Niftylift HR15 H2E, was impressed by the machine’s performance during a demonstration. The company also added 19 fully electric units to its fleet. The HR15 H2E is now deployed on a major UAE construction site, delivering zero emissions without interruptions for refueling or recharging.
Niftylift sees strong growth potential in the Middle East, driven by the construction sector’s increasing focus on sustainability and safety. “We’ve experienced significant growth in demand for Niftylift products in the region despite fierce market competition,” Thomas explains. “This is largely due to rising awareness of safety standards, and Niftylift is globally recognized for advanced safety features like SiOPS (Sustained Involuntary Operation Prevention System), load-sensing, and tilt-sensing technologies.”
To meet the region’s growing demand, Niftylift is establishing a regional office in Dubai, which will serve as a hub for direct sales and support for key rental companies. This office will strengthen partnerships in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, and expand Niftylift’s presence in Saudi Arabia, a key growth market.
Niftylift also maintains close relationships with its clients by regularly attending industry events and holding face-to-face meetings. The company is a sponsor of the upcoming International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Middle East Conference 2024 in Riyadh.
