HIMOINSA Expands Efforts to Address Africa’s Energy Demands

HIMOINSA, a global leader in power technology solutions and part of the Yanmar Group, has unveiled the HGY Series, a new line of engines with capacities ranging from 1,250kVA to 3,500kVA. Plans are also in place to extend the range up to 4,000kVA. The HGY Series is engineered to deliver robust, sustainable energy solutions, particularly in regions with unstable national grids, and is set to address Africa’s increasing energy demands.

The new range is targeted at sectors vital to Africa’s economic development, such as healthcare, mining, oil and gas, and data centers. By providing high-capacity, reliable power solutions, HIMOINSA aims to contribute to the continent’s industrial growth and infrastructure expansion.

HIMOINSA has also focused on capacity building across Africa. In countries like Angola, South Africa, Morocco, Togo, and soon Tanzania, the company is implementing training programs to equip local technicians and engineers with the skills needed to manage and maintain its technology. These efforts are expected to create skilled jobs and develop local expertise, strengthening HIMOINSA’s role in supporting Africa’s development.

A High-Capacity Energy Solution

With the launch of the HGY Series, HIMOINSA is entering the high-capacity engine market to support Africa’s rapid industrialization. The engines offer flexible fuel options, including compatibility with different diesel types and HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), with future capabilities to run on natural gas and hydrogen. This ensures that African businesses and communities can access low-emission, efficient, and reliable power, even in areas with inconsistent grid conditions.

HIMOINSA sees significant potential in Africa’s industrial and digital sectors. The HGY Series is positioned as a key tool for powering healthcare facilities, supporting the growth of data centers, and providing continuous energy for mining operations. With these solutions, HIMOINSA aims to make a tangible impact on Africa’s economic progress, further reinforcing its commitment to the continent’s development.
