ALEC Positions Itself as the Epicentre of Construction Innovation in the GCC

At its annual Innovation Day, ALEC Holdings showcased how its structured Innovation Roadmap has strengthened the company’s position as a platform for global construction innovation, enabling the ideation, development, and scaling of breakthrough technologies across the industry.

With the GCC construction market expected to reach US$2.7 trillion by 2033, regional players are under growing pressure to deliver projects with greater speed, safety, and sustainability.

Imad Itani, Head of Innovation at ALEC, noted, “The region is ripe for innovation, but real progress requires a complete ecosystem—one that connects ambitious projects with proven technologies, unlocks fast-track funding for innovators, and enables investors to access vetted solutions. At ALEC, we have committed ourselves to being that ecosystem. Today, we serve as the epicentre of construction innovation, identifying, implementing, and scaling technologies that redefine how the region builds.”

ALEC’s innovation culture empowers teams across the business to experiment, refine, and commercialise new solutions, with several divisions now rolling out their own products and services.

Innovation Day gathered 15 external partners showcasing technologies co-developed with ALEC. Highlights included TENDERD, an AI-driven equipment management platform that recently raised US$30 million in Series A funding, and SOLUT, whose workforce productivity analytics have boosted labour efficiency by about 30% across multiple pilot sites.

Aleksander Belousov, Founder of SOLUT, added, “Working with ALEC has accelerated our market adoption and expanded our reach beyond construction. The partnership has helped us refine our solution faster and scale more confidently.”

The company also underscored the growing role of subcontractors in shaping the sector’s innovation landscape.
Itani explained, “Subcontractors are central to our project delivery, so their participation in our innovation efforts is critical. This year marks the first time we have formally brought select subcontractors into our innovation programmes, and we aim to extend this across the full supply chain. By enabling shared learning and collaboration, we are strengthening capabilities and driving progress across the ecosystem.”

To reinforce this collaborative approach, ALEC introduced new Collaboration Awards, celebrating partners that are advancing industry-wide innovation. Awards were presented in four categories: Innovative Subcontractor of the Year, Technology Collaboration of the Year, Start-up Engagement of the Year, and Client Collaboration of the Year.
